The School House Vineyard is nestled among the cool, lush forested slopes of Spring Mountain above St. Helena, where Langtry and Spring Mountain Roads intersect, at an elevation of approximately 1500 feet. The vineyard takes its name from the 1890s one-room school house which graced the property until it was consumed by fire in the mid 1980s. The School House has lent its name to this fascinating and unique vineyard property which has quietly produced very small quantities of some of the most sought after Napa Valley wines since the mid-1950s. Steeped in Napa Valley history, School House is the ultimate cult wine producer, cult before cult was cool! – Description from dvoristanac

  • The discussion about "natural wine" Vs "industrial wine" is really hot in Italy. After hundred of posts, articles and discussion i can resume my opinion: 1) i like good wines, 2) i don't like bad wines, i can just add i particulary love territorial good wines.Too much simple? There's some hot discussion around and not for all the issue is so simp... • When I introduced myself to Snooth, last spring, I mentioned that my brother-in-law had gifted me with a bottle of wine that he'd picked up on one of his fishing expeditions to Baja California--Casa Pedro Domecq 2007 Reserva Real, a blend of Barbera and Ruby Cabernet.  I asked if anybody on Snooth had any experience with this or Mexican wines in... • My epiphany wine was a 2000 Turley Zinfandel (sorry, don’t remember the vineyard) drunk on a tiny tropical island. Here’s the story:Tropical WhineImagine yourself on a tropical island, with azure waters and swaying palms. Imagine savory meals of fresh lobster, mangrove crab and toothsome tuna. Now imagine pairing those appealing meals with wine ... Read More

  • There’s a lot of buzz surrounding One Woman Wines. For one thing, the wines are excellent. However, what they also have, is a story behind them that we can all relate to. One Woman Wines isn’t a winery hobby of some Wall Street executive or large conglomerate bank firm. One Woman Wines is literally the result of one woman’s passion and her famil... Read More

  •  OK, add together Parker's influence over the past decade or two, Chinese money over the past few years, and a little bit of marketing acumen by LVMH, the Bordelaise and even the odd Southern Californian. What results? Hopefully a bubble in prices that can't continue indefinitely, after an event like the likely Chinese bubble burst within a coup... Read More
