Since our small winery’s first vintage in 1991, our goal has been to create handcrafted, full-flavored wines that express the personality of the unique Sonoma County vineyards where they are grown. Fred first became known for Zinfandel from his father’s Alexander Valley vineyard, and now his careful hand with Pinot Noir from the Russian River and Sonoma County has quietly gained attention and a steady following. That same attention has made Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah that exemplify the bounty of Sonoma County vineyards. – Description from Dragac

  • Scherrer Winery Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2008

    Snoothrank:

I have yet to find a Scherrer wine that I did not absolutely love and this 2008 Pinot is no exception. Very Burgundian in style with bright red cherry, black cherry and blackberry fruit in perfect balance with slightly mouth watering acidity. Nicely layered with a fairly long finish. Read More

  • I am a dyed in the wool fan of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlots, Sangiovese's and a few Chardonnays and Pinot Grigio's. I am trying to widen my spectrum to include Pinot Noir's. I live in the Pacific Northwest so the Pinot Noir's are readily available due to the large varieties from Oregon. Before I embark on purchasing some different brands I would l... Read More

  • Scherrer Winery Zinfandel Alexander Valley Scherrer Shale Terrace 2009

    Snoothrank:

Fantastic zin from Fred. As usual, well balanced with dark and medium red fruit, medium tannins and just a very drinkable/likeable wine. Went very well with sausages on the grill and summer veggies. I'll keep my Scherrer zin futures orders going as long as they keep making wine like this. Read More
