Awesome Rose of Syrah from Scherrer. Bright red cherries, fresh strawberries, a hint of jolly rancher watermelon, crisp acidity and a fairly long finish. This is just a lot of fun to drink. Read More
This is a big, fresh, juicy, Russian River chardonnay. It is well balanced with apricot, honey, ripe pear, ripe apple, nice acidity and a touch of oak. This has great mouth feel and a wonderfully long finish. Read More

Here are some places on my still to do list, any recommen... Read More
We're heading back to (my favorite wine region) Russian River the first weekend in October and are looking for advice on what to do and what to expect. We've been to RRV several times but only during the off season. Is there anything special we should do at this time of year, and conversely, is there anything we should avoid? Read More
Awesome zin from Russian River. Loads of bright red and blue fruit well balanced with good acidity and silky tannin. As good as it is now it will get better with some age that will take away the slight heat on the nose. Read More
Wow, we had a great time last night. Hopefully Foxall will have a chance to put his spin on things. I didn't take any notes, just 2 pictures but I lined up some of the dead soldiers this morning. 15 people, over 30 different wines and not a single dud except for a sweet/syrupy/candied 2001 Rosenblum Monte Rosso Zinfandel. But enough for the bad... Read More
Pinot has been a much celebrated topic here on Snooth over the years I've participated, and it's obviously one of the more celebrated grapes in the wine world. It'll no doubt be a story line I plan on focusing on in years to come so I thought I'd start a thread, logging experiences. Sorry in advance, Greg T.Having said that, I've been mostly dis... Clean and crisp, with bright red cherry, cranberry, great balance and good acidity. Not the big jammy kind of zin but refined and restrained like most of Fred's wines - excellent. Read More
