Located in the historic district of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, the oldest French settlement west of the Mississippi River, is Sainte Genevieve Winery. A special connection is felt with the French through their rich history and their wines. The winery is located in a beautiful 5,000 square foot, turn-of-the-century home. Sainte Genevieve Winery is a family owned and operated business that was established in 1983 by Chris and Hope Hoffmeister: "We have a commitment to making quality, hand crafted Missouri wine in small lots. We would like to have a wine that suits every palate and every pocketbook." Helping to ensure their continued growth and success, their daughter, Elaine Hoffmeister Mooney, returned to the winery after receiving her degree in enology from the prestigious California State University- Fresno. "Our family would like to market estate bottled wines while continuing to offer a wide vareity of fruit wines. – Description from JelaDragoljevic

Sainte Genevieve Winery on Snooth

  • Sainte Genevieve Winery Vidal NV

    Snoothrank:

This wine is somewhat unapproachable, and may be enjoyed best with a meal (chicken, spicy food). It has a beautiful golden color and a very fruity nose with hints of honey, melon and pear that carried over into the palate. Unfortunate, the fruity flavors were overpowered with a lingering tart acidity and excess alcohol. Read More

  • Ste. Genevieve Winery Concord NV

    Snoothrank:

The wine is ruby colored with medium depth with an aromatic and youthful nose of plum, tart cherries and vanilla. The flavors are reminiscent of port wine with overly intense sweet flavors of plum and cherry jams as well as oak. The sweetness is partly balanced out by a fresh acidity and soft tannins. Read More

I LOVE this chardonnay! It is not available in IL. It is so unique with tropical flavors that hint pineapple & coconut- yes coconut! It is the best value for your wine dollar. Amazing! Read More

  • Ste. Genevieve Winery Concord NV

    Snoothrank:

A bartender recommended I try this... It was most disgusting swill I've ever held in my mouth. I couldn't even swallow my first taste. This is utterly repulsive...like Welch's grape juice mixed with urine. The epitome of horrific US wine. Read More

  • Sainte Genevieve Winery Cranberry NV

    Snoothrank:

Somewhat tart, really works with the cranberry flavors. On the dry side of semi-sweet. If you like cranberry flavor, and slightly dry wines, this is an absolute winner. At $10 a bottle it's an excellent deal. I'm not an expert so YMMV. Read More

  • Cherry NV

    Snoothrank:

First thing I noticed was that it was sweet, not dessert wine, but also not something I would want to drink more than a glass of at a time. Flavors are good, seems balanced, no harsh edges; I'm not a wine expert so YMMV. Final note, good bottle of wine for the price, $5.60 plus shipping. Read More
