Roshambo Winery was born of the simple idea that serious wines became, well, a little too serious. It's the brainchild of maverick Wine Hero Naomi Brilliant, granddaughter of the late and great Sonoma County grape grower, Frank Johnson. Our small, independent winery was named after the West Coast slang for the ancient children's game, "Rock, Paper, Scissors," and with our annual RPS Tournaments, Pirate Proms and Roshambustops, we like to think we are fighting for fun in a winey world. Because no matter how slickly we package the stuff, we know we can't pull the wool over the oenophile's eyes... nor can we lure the beer and booze set to the Other Side of the Vine with a bogey in the bottle. The whole point of this adventure was to welcome a new crowd of people to the Read more »

  • Okay, so I admit it:  I like to buy things for less than I think they are worth.  And what a great time for that in wine.  Wineries are unloading library wines and cutting prices, but there are even better deals to be had.  Wineries bottle up excess wine and sell it without a label to a broker who can't say exactly what it is, but can use the AV... • Roshambo Chardonnay Sonoma County Imago 2007

Ordered a glass of this at a nice Restaurant and had pretty high expectations. I was really enticed by a very nice pear on the nose. Unfortunately the alcohol was really coming through (and the wine was served quite cold) which made the wine quite disjointed and that was really all I could taste. It reminded me very much of absolut pear vodka, o... Read More

  • A friend and I decided to see wine country while it was just about harvest season, so there'd be grapes on the vines. She had been once before on a planned tour of about four places all in south Sonoma. We opted this time to rent a car and drive ourselves so we could hit the places we wanted to visit.I learned some valuable things, so if you'r... Read More
