l Jo and Kevin took over the winery in October 2004. Since then the vineyard and surrounding area has had a face-lift. A new car park has been put in, along with some very attractive native garden beds. As the garden grows and becomes established it will be a pleasure to visit. All visitors to cellar door are welcome to look around the gardens and the vineyard. During your visit to cellar door, you are encouraged to ask questions, be it about the vineyard or the winemaking side of things. Tours around the winery are available, with all aspects of winemaking discussed. The cellar door experience is a very personal one, with all attention focused on you the customer. – Description from milana

  • Had a great first full day here in south central California. Started off with a very good breakfast at the ForFriends B&B in Santa Ynez. Too early for any of the tasting rooms to be open so we headed down to Jalama beach for some salt air and scenery. • I once, a few years back, almost pulled the trigger on a real estate purchase in the hills back behind the Big Sur coastline. Was reminiscing on that today, and wondered why I never hear about wine from that area. Is it because I'm so far away and out of touch and there actually are barrels and barrels of wine being made there, or because the cu... Read More

  • Made a trip to Pahrump Nevada today to play a round of golf with my friends at Mountain Falls GC. Amazing course! Rated #1 in Nevada and the #7 public course in America. Who would have thought a course that nice could be located smack dab in the middle of basically no-mans land.Because the trip is 45 minutes from Vegas, I decided to visit the wi... Read More

  • Napa Valley grape growers and winemakers wore out their worry beads in 2011. Rain came early, often and didn’t want to go away. It was a cool year as well, forcing winemakers to spend even more time walking the vineyards than usual. Napa Valley is accustomed to dry, warm, sunny growing seasons. It’s Cabernet Sauvignon wines are widely known for ... Read More

  • Last week I published reviews of some varied roses currently on the market. At the same time as I tasted those wines I also tasted these examples. I’ve chosen to publish the results separately for two reason. First off there is the pricing issue, the Pinot Noir Based examples were simply much more expensive than all the rest, and there there was... Read More
