Roots Run Deep Winery was founded in 2005 with the promise of producing unparalleled wine from the Napa Valley at prices everyone can afford. Grapes grown by the best producers in Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford and Carneros wine districts go into making our wines superb in quality and unmatched in value. Proprietor Mark Albrecht is a 15-year veteran in the wine industry and has been involved in all aspects of the industry from restaurant to retail, and wholesaler to supplier. Mark was instrumental in the creation, strategic planning and marketing of many successful wine brands and brings that passion to Roots Run Deep. His philosophy is that great wines can be affordable and Roots Run Deep Winery is dedicated to producing wines that can compete with $50+ wines for a fraction of the price. – Description from John Andrews

  • Roots Run Deep Educated Guess Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Opens with Plum, Cedar, Oak, and Vanilla; then on to Plum and Bing Cherry; finishes with a bit of Slate, Vanilla, Mint, and Concord Grape. A big, full mouthful with a long long finish of stewed fruit, Blackberry, Licorice, and Milk Chocolate. Cannot remember when or where I picked this bottle up, but wish I had more. Read More

  • So what’s not to like? 2010 Barolo is in the hype machine right now and as much as i would like to say that they hype machine is in overdrive, which it perennially is, this is one time where much might be warranted. that’s not to say that 2010 is a universally fabulous vintage. It simply is not with more than a handful of wines showing under-rip... Read More

  • California "Old Vine" wines, Zinfandel, especially, have been getting a lot of attention in the last few years.  I, certainly, have been paying more attention to them, lately, mostly as a result of the postings of Outthere on some of the historic vineyards in his neck of the woods.  He interested me enough to join the Historic Vineyard Society, ...
