Founded in 1982, Roederer Estate winery is nestled in Mendocino County's cool, fog-shrouded Anderson Valley. As the California outpost of Champagne Louis Roederer, Roederer Estate winery builds upon a centuries-old tradition of fine winemaking.

Roederer Estate's sparkling wines are produced using only Estate-grown grapes from the winery's own vineyards. Carrying on the tradition of Champagne Louis Roederer in France, special oak-aged reserve wines are added to each blend. The multi-vintage Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut debuted in 1988 to great acclaim, followed by the Roederer Brut Rosé and Roederer Estate's tête de cuvée, L'Ermitage.

Roederer Estate's brand website can be found at www.RoedererEstate.com.

Roederer Estate on Snooth

  • Al, Roederer Estate is a HUGE production wine.  BevMo and TotalWine should have it.  The Hermitage is the grand cuvee and a good value as well, but around $45 vs. $20 or less for the regular. Not going to post photos at this late date, but our NYE wines were a Prosecco called Italian Fox that I bought for the obvious silly reason.  It was pretty... • Roederer Estate Brut Anderson Valley NV

    Snoothrank:

Wonderful as usual. Apples, nuttiness, a slight touch of cherry with a cripness and acidity that give this an excellent finish. 91 points - drink now - Paul. Read More

  • We talked a lot about sparkling wine last week but there is a lot more to cover. The biggest sparkling wine day of the year, New Year's Eve, is right around the corner. Opening a bottle of sparkling wine can be a a dangerous proposition. There's a lot of pressure under that cork! But if you like living on the edge, there's always sabrage. When t... Read More

  • JD, I won't bother with Chilean Cab in general, but the Castillero del ... ... been just as happy with the Roederer Estate l'Ermitage or something from Schramsberg.  Funny, because for years I've been a little down on domestic sparkling.  The PH was clean, crisp, lively, but kind of neutral.  Not a lot of complexity there.  The Clio was a huge... • Schramsberg is available at Trader Joe's.  And, yes, it is better than Roederer Estate.  But if she wants/needs to spend less, the Roederer is good.  J Cuvee 20 is also an option right around $20 and the bottle is fancy, so it makes a nice prize.Anyone like red in that crowd?  I think the nicest reds in the $20-30 range are Riojas, Reservas and ...
