OK, then, here's what I've tried so far. The first one I tried I did ... this.Sangiovese-Syrah from Rocca delle Macie SaSyr (Olive Garden) - This wine was awesome. It was like putting a firecracker in your mouth and lighting the fuse. I could tell the alcohol content was high, too. I would love to find this and buy a case of it.Olive Garden Si... Read More

My family and I are brand new to wines, having bought a couple of books and deciding to make a bit of an adventure out of this. We live in a smallish town and haven't been able to find a good local wine shop, so we sort of started in our grocery stores. Medium red in the glass, but remains transparent. Aroma of spice, oak, toast, and ripe berries. Middle of the road in terms of tannin level. Has a compact balance on the palate that seems like it would pair well with a variety of foods. Read More

Dark garnet color. Black licorice and spice on the nose. Note of cassis and ripe cherry on the palate. Not big tannins but they are there. Finish is moderate. Easy to drink, not a "big" red by any means but would probably do as a mid-week dinner wine. 2.5 - 3.0 glasses. I'll give it three for now. We'll see how it shows on day 2. Read More
