Red Knot is a wine produced by brothers Kym and John Davey at the Shingleback estate in McClaren Vale, Australia. The estate was first purchased by their grandfather in 1957, and the Davey brothers brought their combined expertise in farming, business and winemaking to produce under their own label beginning in the 1990s. Their aim is to make value-driven wines that express the true essence of McClaren Vale. Red Knot wines are produced as concentrated, fruit-forward expressions, designed to be enjoyed immediately upon release.

  • Red Knot Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

    Snoothrank:

A bit meaty on the nose, though rather fresh and bright with black fruit, soil, cracked pepper and grilled meaty aromas. Smooth and larger scaled in the mouth, the flavors here are simple but attractive combination of black currant and wood spice with a hint of leather and earth joining in. This is moderately rich but at the same time it offers ... Read More

  • Red Knot Shiraz 2011

    Snoothrank:

Rich cherry and oak aroma with berry and soft vanilla notes. The flavor is full of fruit and berry, oak and hints of vanilla. Very peppery. Decanting would be very beneficial for this wine. Great wine, great price. I paid $10.99. I'll definitely buy it again. Read More

  • Red Knot Shiraz Mclaren Vale 2010

    Snoothrank:

Jammy on the nose with deep notes of plum, currant and a whack of vanilla oak all topped with plenty of cracked black pepper. Pretty well balanced in the mouth though this lacks a little cohesiveness. The fruit is a bit mild compared to the nose and shows decent freshness and some nice blue streaks along with notes of pepper and herb. The tanni... Read More
