For that reason it was also the dominant choice of home winemakers in other parts of the country who were purchasing grapes shipped east from California.  For years it was thought th... Read More

  • Ravenswood Zinfandel Napa 2013

    Snoothrank:

This typical zinfandel, from the warm Lodi region, lives up to Ravenswood's 'No Wimpy Wines' motto. In this wine, there's plenty of raspberry, blackberry, blueberry and plum aromas, as well as green/white peppers, herb/leafy and spicy notes. It's a chewy, full-bodied red with balanced acidity. The wine presents plenty of jammy notes; dark berry/... Read More

  • Ravenswood Sonoma County Old Vine Zinfandel 2014

    Snoothrank:

Licorice and rich spice on the nose with soft cherry and red currant notes, lightly floral. Dark mixed berry, gritty tannins and brooding spice with black cherry and blackberry flavors, a not-so-subtle earthiness on the finish thats thick with tar and espresso notes. Read More

  • Ravenswood Besieged 2014

    Snoothrank:

Surprisingly restrained yet still a touch heated on the nose with spicy blackberry and black currant aromas and pleasant sweet spice. Quite fruity on entry and intriguingly diverse, beginning with blueberry, black cherry and blackberry fruit before releasing a swath of ta... Read More
