Quinta dos Roques
Considered as one of the leaders of the region, Quinta dos Roques combines in a perfect way century old traditions with the most updated technologies, resulting in one of the finest "quinla" wines produced in Portugal being the pride of its creators. Since the first Roques, over more than a century ago, the vineyards and the wine are part of the everyday life of this family, though for a long time the production was only enough for the household consumption. At the beginning of the eighties, the traditional agriculture gave way to an ambitious project, aiming for the production of a superior quality D50 wine. Alter choosing the best places with granitic and, at times, schistous soils, in gentle southern facing slopes, the best traditional grape varieties of the region were planted following the most advanced techniques.
