Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Table Wine 2007
Snoothrank:
Winemaker's commentsThe Quilceda Creek 2007 Columbia Valley Red Wine is a blend of declassified lots, which reflect the richness and complexity of this fabulous vintage. As with all of our wines, it represents a great quality to price ratio. This medium-bodied wine displays black cherry fruit, roasted herbs, marzipan, cocoa, smoke and minerals. ... Read More

Quilceda Creek Vintners Quilceda Creek-Cabernet Sauvignon Palengat Vineyard 2006
Snoothrank:
Intense purple ruby colour, initially (despite 4 hours of in-bottle breathing) very closed nose and I thought this might have been a compromised bottle. At times, I would be teased by hints of exciting florals but what resided in the glass was a dull and uninspiring spirit. However, overnight, youthful aromas of blackberries, violets and bramble... Had one of those once in a lifetime days betting the ponies today. With the winnings, i'm probably going to be budgeting up to $1500.00 on some more expensive wines I haven't been able to afford in the $80-$200 range. Any suggestions? I favor a right-bank bordeaux style for reds but also enjoy a medium bodied cabernet style, along with rhone ... Read More

"-- The 2007 ----- is 100% Tinto Fino aged for 24 months in French and American barriques. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it emits a super-fragrant bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, Asian spices, black cherry, and blackberry. Dense and opulent on the palate, this loaded effort is succulent, pure, and exceptionally lengthy. It will evolv... Read More

Hi, I am looking to buy birth year bottles for my girls (born in '95 and '97). Which region and varietal can hold up for 21 years before popping the cork? I'm guessing French wines will be the most common response, but my knowledge to this region is pretty limited (primarily drink CA, WA, and Italian wines). Also not looking to break the bank... Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Washington 2006
Snoothrank:
I tried the wine at the release party as well as opened a bottle a week ago. Consistent notes with medium body, dark cassis fruit, and somewhat integrated tannins. I feel this wine needs time in the bottle to show its full potential. I'd wait until mid 2010 before opening one. History shows that the Quilceda folks make great wine !! Read More
