Villa Pozzi is a brand of wines produced in Sicily, Italy. The Pozzi family matriarch began producing wines in his hometown of Cremona, in Piedmont, and after sourcing grapes for production throughout the country, the business settled in Sicily and is now overseen by Daniele Pozzi. The main vineyards are now located in the hills of Marsala, Salemi and Mazzara del Vallo. The wines are available as Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Nero d’Avola.

Pozzi on SnoothNovember 2012
Deep, dark, almost black in the glass."Sour" nose--not promising. Very nice on the tongue. though. Fruity up front--currants, prunes. More layer as it rolls around. Some tannin ameliorates the fruitiness. Seems like it would be a good cheese wine. I'll try something, shortly. Very nice mellow finish. US$12.99 at Total Wines Read More

Not much going on here aromatically just shadings of herb stems, flowers and citrus fruits, an expect array but it lacks any intensity. Soft on the palate though with better intensity than on the nose as it delivers a simple core of peach and orange/grapefruit rinds that ends with a touch of heaviness on the finish. 82pts Read More

Soft and toasty with some white peach flavors. Nicely rounded and flavorful. To me this tastes more like a dry Pinot Gris style from Alsace than an Italian Pinot Grigio (same grape, but different styles). The oaky-toastiness is what gives it away. Read More
