Podere Il Pozzo
The farm is made up of about 50 hectares of woodlands, vineyards and olives. Ten of these hectares are devoted to a specialized vineyard with an average elevation of 300 m and south-east exposure: this entire plot is listed in the official Chianti Rufina registry of vineyards. In keeping with our commitment to produce wines that reflect the uniqueness of our territory, we have chosen to cultivate Sangiovese grapes, a vine species that best represents its peculiarity. The old promiscuous vines have been substituted with specialized, intensive vineyards, with the exception of the “Vigna Vecchia” or old vineyard which is more than 50 years old. This vineyard has been carefully preserved and receives constant attention in order to safeguard the ancient autochthonous clones of colorino, canaiolo, mammolo and others.
This ancient Tuscan colonial complex is located on the hills above the town of Rufina. Numerous documents can be found in the Museum of Vines and Grapes in the Villa di Poggio Reale Read more »
