Planeta is a wine produced by the family of the same name in various locations all over Sicily, Italy. The main estate in Sambuca di Sicilia has been in the family since the 1600s. In the 1980s, Alessio, Francesca and Santi Planeta established the wine brand. The wines are produced around the original family estate in Sambuca di Sicilia, as well as in Menfi (where they produce the La Segreta label of bianco and rosso), Vittoria (where they produce Cerrasuola), Noto (for Santa Cecilia) and most recently, Etna. They use a combination of indigenous Sicilian as well as international grape varieties in their wines.
