  Pinot Blanc Alsace Réserve 2008

  Snoothrank:

  Bright yellow-gold, with aromas of citrus, yellow melon and canned white fruit, flavor notes of green apple, melon rind with heavy mineral and wet rock, off-dry with acidity that carries this wine to a memorable finish. Spice is nice, and fresh is best! A terrific food-wine value!!

Read moreThe low-end Pierre Sparr Gewurz but still a good value for the money. I paid $12.95. On the back label, Pierre Sparr indicates the level of sweetness. On the scale of 1 to 9 (with 9 being the sweetest) this wine is rated a 2. In typical Alsatian style, it has distinctive floral aromas. Lychee and notes of spice are evident. The taste is very smooth and clean on the palate. Melon, lychee, and peach are pronounced tastes.    (hide)

  Snoothrank:

  Pale yellow with a tinge of green. Mild aromas- slightly floral and green apple. The degree of sweetness is listed on the back-label. Rated 1 of 9 (9 being the sweetest). Dry, with tastes of lemon and minerals. Some nice acidity on the finish. Good value for the price. I paid $10.95.
