  • Pierre Sparr Gewürztraminer Alsace Réserve 2008

    Snoothrank:

Bright yellow-gold, with aromas of citrus, yellow melon and canned white fruit, flavor notes of green apple, melon rind with heavy mineral and wet rock, off-dry with acidity that carries this wine to a memorable finish. Spice is nice, and fresh is best! A terrific food-wine value!! Read More

  • Pierre Sparr Gewürztraminer Alsace Réserve 2008

    Snoothrank:

The low-end Pierre Sparr Gewurz but still a good value for the money. I paid $12.95. On the back label, Pierre Sparr indicates the level of sweetness. On the scale of 1 to 9 (with 9 being the sweetest) this wine is rated a 2. In typical Alsatian style, it has distinctive floral aromas. Lychee and notes of spice are evident. The taste is very smo... • Pierre Sparr Gewürztraminer Alsace Réserve 2008

    Snoothrank:

This 14-karat gold, unoaked French white smells of apples and oranges. The sip is mostly sweet. Medium is a good overall description - medium body, medium taste, medium white wine. The acidity paired well with a moderately spicy dish of cajun chicken, and at $9, I practically stole it from my wine merchant! Read More

  • Pierre Sparr Tokay Pinot Gris Alsace Cuvée Réserve 2005

    Snoothrank:

I purchase this bottle for around $15 so it appears to be less expensive in Southwest Florida. Sparr bottles everything he ferments well so it's a good value here. There is just a hint of that sweet honey you get from the grapes in this part of Europe --I also get a subtle saffron essence in the Pinot Gris from Alsace...I know it's really weird.... Read More

  • Pierre Spar Gewurztraminer 2005

    Snoothrank:

This is far more interesting than any ice wine I have ever had, as it is essentially a dessert wine. Spice and ripe fruit on the nose with familiar Lychee on the nose and palate in spades along with much syrupy honeyed smoke. This is gorgeous and sensual wine. Delicious. Read More

  • Pierre Spar Gewurztraminer 2005

    Snoothrank:

The nose on this wine is dry, has slight wood tints. The initial taste is slighty sharp, which resolves quickly. The follow through is smooth and medium bodied. Read More
