The total area of the domaine is 11 hectares, distributed in different parcels located in the districts of Monthelie, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet, and, of course Meursault. All the vineyards were cultivated following organic agricultural practices from 1992 to 1997, at the end of this period the domaine became 100% biodynamic. – Description from Nerevar

  • Pommard les Riottes Domaine Jean et Pierre Tartois 2002

I bought this bottle of wine for £12 from a wine merchant in Sussex.Pommard is an AOC created in 1937 for red wines from the commune of that name on the Cotes de Beaune in Burgundy. It is made from the Pinot Noir grape although up to 15% of the white grapes; chardonnay, pinot blanc and pinot gris may be used in a blend but this does not often happ... • Pierre Gonon Vin de France 2011

Clear, very pale straw color. Very interesting nose--a bready, yeasty thing that I get a lot from Champagnes. That diminishes pretty quickly to a fairly neutral nose. VERY DELICATE on the palate. Very light fruit flavors--apple, peach. Easy on the back palate. Smooth finish. US$29.99 at HI Time in Costa Mesa. (This is an OK white wine, b... Read More

  • Gaillard Pierre Cote Rotie Cote Rozier 2005

What a beautiful expression of the Cote-Rotie! The quintessential scent of Syrah with Cola, blackberry and bramble is there in abundance. This wine would last another 5 years at least, but works well today with (still) youthful vigor that reminds me of trips to Haida Gwaii and the southern Alaska. What beauty! Only Washington State and British... Read More

  • Pierre Ponnelle Bourgogne Passe-Tout-Grains 2009

All grapes permitted is not quite true; only Pinot Noir and Gamay are allowed and the blend must be at least 33% PN. Rarely found these days, and the first I have tasted in decades, this 2009 has a nose of strawberry jam with a vegetable element that is nondescript. On the palate, a very tart entry - like strawberry Lik-m-aid crystals - but a wi... Read More

  • Pierre Gonon St. Joseph les Oliviers 2010

This was fairly complex on the nose with notes of roasted coffee bean, rose petals, a hint of orange oil and some hazelnut elements, over soft notes of green olive and black pepper beef. Balanced if a touch soft in the mouth, this is rambunctiously tannic at this young age but there seems to be enough stuffing to absorb the structure. Theres a l... Read More

  • Catherine et Pierre Breton Bourgueil Trinch! 2011

This wine has a textural component that is very fine grained (almost lacy) but completely round and apparent. Reminiscent of chalk although that is not entirely accurate. More black wet river thick mud..blueberries, tart berry somewhere in between strawberry, raspberry, and cranberry. Slightly lacquered saddle leather. I know Parker wants us to ... Read More
