Today, at Peter Lehmann Wines the art of winemaking goes hand in hand with the many people, stories and wines that make the Barossa famous. It is now Barossa legend that Peter Lehmann established the winery in the late 1970s, to protect the livelihood of growers who were facing financial ruin. Knowing this would be a gamble, Peter adopted the Queen of Clubs – the Gambler’s Card – made famous by Damon Runyon’s character Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, as the company logo. Many different interpretations of the Queen of Clubs painted by Australian artists, now adorn wines from within our Art Series range. Peter Lehmann Wines has developed a reputation as one of Australia’s most respected, premium wine producers, twice awarded the International Winemaker of the Year, and three times awarded Best Australian Producer at the IWSC. Every vintage, over 160 growers supply us with their fruit from over 900 of the best vineyards.
