Lynn started Penner-Ash Wine Cellars with husband Ron in 1998, carefully crafting small amounts of Pinot noir and Syrah, while she was still at Rex Hill. Their early success with the label caused them to dream of what they could create and in 2001 they began building the Penner-Ash brand full time. Penner-Ash has achieved impressive growth, going from 125 cases of Pinot noir in 1998 to a projected 8,000 cases of Pinot noir and Syrah in 2007. – Description from Alejandro

  • Enjoying an anchovy and balsamic caper pasta dish with, of all things, an Acrobat 2012 Pinot Noir that was recommended to me and for the price was really very good - a complete and pleasant surprise, though it shouldn't be.King Estate bought them and bottles entry level PN, PG and Rose of Pinot under the Acrobat label.  I've now had 2 of the 3 a... Forum post in the topic Oregon Pinot - Kelley Fox Wines

  • Anyone have any experience?I've noticed Kelley mentioned among the best company in Oregon Pinot, popular with Somm's and the like. Being a Burgundy lover, I've mostly found CA Pinot painful (though I've found a few I like!), and Oregon Pinot quite a bit more elegant, but sometimes or most of the time more boring rather than painful (as I find wi... • The Penner Ash is not Legendary or in the class of other mentioned wines; but the Somm at Marker 88 is a collector/fan of Willamette I kinda knew...  It also didn't hurt that I dined with a Local. Thanks for the waive, I actually believe that 88 does not allow outside bottles. period. And the WL is nothing short. Read More

  • In your strongest opinion? Penner Ash? I'm a little mystified, as always, but I like it when places waive the corkage fee. They usually do when I bring wine, and it's greatly appreciated. OTOH, I don't drink anything legendary, so maybe I'm just not hanging out in the best of places! Read More
