Old thread but by far the best is Paumanok. Knowing nothing whatsoever, I tasted a white and thought it was wonderful. Turned out to be chenin blanc. Is anyone else growing it out there? No. Why? Stupidity I guess....

Clos Rougeard is tops on my list. Fairly amazing wines from the Saumur ... what I have tasted though Paumanok's is as good in a different style. Standing Stone makes a fine, pure wine in New York's finger Lakes region....
