The Blanck family has been established in Alsace since the late 16th century and in the wine business in Kientzheim since the early 19th. The regional wine activity has gone through a great deal of changes, mainly political ones, over the last two centuries. Family spirit. This is a reality with the Blancks. The proof is that two generations work hand in hand. The sons, Frédéric and Philippe work incessantly under the supervision of Bernard and Marcel to improve their wines and move in new directions. – Description from Dragac

  • Paul Blanck Pinot Blanc 2009

    Snoothrank:

Deep and earthy on the nose with complex aromas of dried apple fruit, dried herbs, a hint of petrol and buckwheat honey. On the palate, this surprises with its really fine focus and piercing acidity. The flavors are fresh though a bit simple, featuring notes of quince and apple flecked with a suggestion of herb and hints of river stones on the b... Read More

  • Paul Blanck Pinot Gris 2009

    Snoothrank:

The brilliant, medium-golden appearance of this wine makes me long for a crisp October evening and all the delicious food that comes in the fall. Fuller-bodied, with notes of honey, apricot, ripe apple, and spice. Pork chop topped with reduced pears or apples, anyone? Read More

  • Paul Blanck Riesling 2003

    Snoothrank:

Holding up well under screw cap in April 2011. Colour golden hue with obvious bottle development. On the nose it shows complex, lifted characters of mineral/citrus, ripe golden peach and a hint of honey. On the palate there is a lovely balance between the acidity, fruit and an aged honeycombe roundness - the acidity is all still there with a cle... Read More

  • Paul Blanck Riesling 2006

    Snoothrank:

This is Paul Blanck's everyday, or "Classique" Riesling. It is rated a medium-dry wine (3 of 10- with 10 being the sweetest wine). This isn't the most aromatic Riesling yet there are floral aromas along with honey and minerals. The taste is mellow with some mild spice, apple and apricot. The mouthfeel is smooth. There is enough acidity to provid... Read More
