After a few minutes of opening the Ambrogio develops & soften. Plenty of fruit with some spice. Violet flavours are persistent & continue on the mid palate. The length is medium. QC(http://www.questionofwine.blogspot.com) Read More

Big, big, big! Plums, licorice, dark fruits, the wine is very muscular on the palate! Full bodied, yet super elegant, the acidity & minerality gives this wine a superb texture. Great length with a superb lingering finish!QC(htttp://www.questionofwine.blogspot.com) Read More

The nose is full of menthol and ripe fruits. On the palate a much sweeter style is accompanied by some round flavours of dark cherries. The acidity is well maintained all the way giving the wine a certain purity. Beautiful finish!QC(http://www.questionofwine.blogspot.com) Read More

A totally unexpected showing of this bottle. I had expected a modern, oak influenced candy shop of a Barolo but what I got was a balanced and finessed example of an 11 year old Barolo just coming to age. Color was a brilliant dark red. The nose was a mix of intense spicy fruit, herbs and leather. But then, the palette... Fresh and vibrant re... Read More

The nose is a bit woodsy here with nice mushroom and licorice tones but lots of cocoa and oak notes as well. Good acids in the mouth are paired with big, drying tannins. there is a bit of a woody sweetness here and the sweet pipe tobacco and rum raisin fruit tones come off as a bit clumsy. Pretty big scaled but not a lot of depth on the palate. ... Read More

Upon opening a rich, warm and inviting nose filled with candied plum, menthol, potpourri and a little port. Dark purple in color. Cherries vanilla and rose petal on the palette. Long but cloying finish. An enjoyable Barolo but certainly from the modernists school of thinking. The oak used on this wine was too apparent. At times the nose turned to... Read More
