Osoyoos Larose is a Canadian wine produced in the Bordeaux tradition in British Columbia in the South Okanagan. This is a project that came together between Pascal Madevon of Groupe Taillan in Bordeaux and Vincor of Canada. This meeting of Old World tradition and New World technology is produced at a vineyard overlooking Lake Osoyoos. The winery produces two red blends: the Old World Bordeaux style of Le Grand Vin and the New World, more fruit-forward Pétales d’Osoyoos.

  • Well, DV, the Bordeaux Release is the largest ever, I think, with something ... about 50 dollars (C), the Osoyoos Larose or the Painted Rock are actually as good or better... but one must be selective.  I like the purity of our best Bordeaux-style wines, and this likely due to the dry climate and better terroir (soil, land).  Anyway, you might... • So on a whim we decided to visit British Columbia. But we flew up to Washington, so visited a few places there too. Totally off the subject of wine, I found an awesome bakery in Spokane and the girl there served me this thing that I thought was a kind of Parmesan cheese foam. In fact it was fermented cashew whip, which was definitely weird, but ... Read More

  • Osoyoos Larose le Grand Vin 2015

    Snoothrank:

Aside from The Reference by Blackwood Lane (2006, 2007 vintages, in particular), this is the purest, most approachable red Bordelais-style wine from British Columbia ever crafted.
