Osoyoos Larose is a Canadian wine produced in the Bordeaux tradition in British Columbia in the South Okanagan. This is a project that came together between Pascal Madevon of Groupe Taillan in Bordeaux and Vincor of Canada. This meeting of Old World tradition and New World technology is produced at a vineyard overlooking Lake Osoyoos. The winery produces two red blends: the Old World Bordeaux style of Le Grand Vin and the New World, more fruit-forward Pétales d’Osoyoos.

Osoyoos Larose on Snooth

  • Osoyoos Larose le Grand Vin 2009

    Snoothrank:

The Osoyoos Larose just keeps improving, and the 2009 edition is as good as any of the predecessors with a cedar bark - sweet cherry nose with a hint of black earth and pencil lead. Unbelievable mouth-filling flavours of cherry, cake spice and bramble berries with a hint of vanilla on the finish. As a Bordeaux should be, but often isn't. Sup... Read More

  • Osoyoos Larose Red Bordeaux Blend Okanagan Valley Vqa le Grand Vin 2007

    Snoothrank:

The 2007 edition of this wine is exceptional - perhaps the best ever; the color is deep garnet with a plummy "right bank" nose that vies with any but the best Bordeaux. Merlot dominant, but clearly stuffed with Cabernet, this wine would win awards in France. The entry is elegant with fine grained tannins and wonderful brambleberry and cherry no... Read More

  • I am drinking something that most of you have never tasted but certainly should; the very best in Bordelais style red from British Columbia (for my palette at least).  This is the 2007 Osoyoos-Larose 2007 which sold for 45 dollars Canadian - a steal at prices we see from France. My only concern right now is that I did not buy more of this wine (a... • Would definitely be interested in hearing what people think are the best wineries, and wines, in the Okanagan. Hopefully with an explanation why. Have a good friend going for an extended stay, based in Kelowna, in a month or so, and it'd be nice to be able to offer some pointers. She and her husband drink a lot of New Zealand sauvignon blanc,... Read More
