200 years of history of one of Spain's longest established companies. Over two centuries that have marked its identity. Over two centuries of ongoing innovation. Over two centuries as sector leaders, thanks to efficient menagment and above all thanks to the endeavour of a group of companies, where each generation has known how to combine hard work, quality and tradition. The history of Osborne can be traced back no the end of the 18th century, when a young English trader, Thomas Osborne Mann, from Exeter (Devon, England), settled in Cadiz. – Description from milana

Osborne on Snooth

  • The Osborne was gutted and rebuilt with modern components (twice now).  I tossed out the old 8-bit CPU processor and the CP/M software; it could not handle much of anything in the modern Internet, even with a generic browser like Netscape. Read More

  • Two different threads now. I'm amazed that Big Al still has that Osborne working. No reason it shouldn't still function, but I'm surprised it runs any modern software. As far as the high school cliques, I think when you get any crowd, there's a regression to the mean. Outliers get discarded and the sense of belonging one obtains from defining our... Read More

  • Yes, I remember the Sinclair.  It was very small, similar in overall mass ... as a Commodore 64.  The Osborne was much more powerful, running CP/M.  I learned MSBasic on that machine, and it helped me produce my Masters Project - a speech synthesis circuit board and the software I wrote to run spelling lessons.  Seemed important at the time......
