Our winery is founded on four decades of experience, two generations of winemakers and family roots that reach deep into California agriculture. We are based in San Luis Obispo, in the heart of the Central Coast wine country, where we have been making wine for 25 years.
Our wines are made by the father-and-son winemaking team of Chuck Ortman and Matt Ortman. Chuck brings extensive experience and artistry to the winemaking program. Matt complements Chuck with a knack for craftsmanship and a thirst for new ideas. Together, they advance the acclaimed “Ortman style,” which emphasizes richness, elegance and cuisine compatibility.
We specialize in varietals that excel in distinguished local appellations, including Chardonnay from Edna Valley, Pinot Noir from Santa Rita Hills and Syrah from Paso Robles. Our winemaking approach is guided by a devotion to quality in the vineyard and in the cellar.
We are ultimately inspired by our surroundings, by the unique and versatile terrain of the Central Coast, and the excellence of select individual vineyards.
