It is with great excitement that we announce the second release of Oakville East – Exposure Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2005 vintage has been our darling since it was first tasted as grape juice after the crush. The wine captures the essence of one of the most celebrated sub-regions of the Valley, and once again our northwest exposure insured completely mature grapes in spite of the record breaking crop load. The result is a cabernet with the same elegance and soft integrated tannins as our inaugural 2004 vintage, but with more defined middle pallet. Part of the change can be attributed to the inclusion of a small amount of Cabernet Franc from the Saunder’s (20+ year old vines) vineyard that has become part program with the 2005 vintage. Another factor that will help define our vintages now and into the future is our movement through sustainable green agriculture techniques to organic and biodynamic farming practices.
