Mike started his winemaking career under the direction of Thomas Brown in 2001. Traveling from Portland Oregon, Mike worked each crush "free of charge" to learn his craft. Following his 3rd harvest, Mike accepted a full-time assistant position from Thomas and moved his family to St. Helena. Today, Mike continues to work with Thomas on several labels( i.e. Schrader, Rivers-Marie, Maybach & Tamber Bey.) The Myriad wines are custom crushed along side these greats...showcasing Mike's talents and stylistic "purist" approach to winemaking. – Description from Dragac

  • Myriad Syrah Halcon Vineyard Yorkville Highlands 2016

Nice unobtrusive introduction of black raspberry or black cherry. Some salinity, mid-palate. Quite muted tannin. Very pleasant, mid-length aftertaste with, interestingly, a hint of licorice. A very restrained, although, altogether enjoyable wine. Read More

  • Myriad Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard 2012

Nose of dark fruit. Dark purple color. Blackberry, blueberry, currant on the tip of the tongue. Fairly "thick" mouthfeel. More "sweetness" than I normally get from CS. Some leather/tobacco under the mid-to-rear palate. Not as tannic as many Napa examples, but, still, a sturdy wine. Read More

  • Myriad Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2016

A lot of up front fruit--blackberry. It gives the impression of being a tad sweet. Normally, I would view that as a negative. Under the mid- rear- palate I get an unsweetened chocolate sensation that makes me think this is a real wine. Approachable now, but will, most assuredly keep for years. Read More

  • Myriad Petaluma Gap Sangiacomo Vineyard. Syrah 2016

A pretty big, mouth-filling wine. Red fruit, some earthiness, some herbal hints. Moderate tannin. noticeable acid. I like this wine, I suspect that the other bottle that I have in storage will improve over the years. I'm not going to wait very many years, though. Read More

  • Myriad Syrah Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard Napa Valley 2013

Bright fruit--berry, stone fruit--on the tip of the tongue. "Bright" implies acid. This wine must have it, but it is well-controlled. Very much resolved tannin--I get some puckeriness, interestingly, on the bottom edges of my tongue. Possibly, my favorite Myriad Syrah. Read More

  • Myriad Esther Block las Madres Vyd. Syrah 2014

Nice medium-bodied wine. Stars with slightly-less-than-ripe red plum flavor. Then some savoriness. Interestingly enough, more fruitiness, and, somewhat, sweeter, mid-to-rear palate. Fairly sedate tannin. Pleasant, albeit, short aftertaste. Read More

  • Myriad Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2013

Nice, mouth-filling wine. Lots of dark fruitblackberry, blueberry, sloe. Im definitely not getting the cassis that I see in a lot of Napa Cabs. A little jammy.. Very sedate tannin, in my opinion. Nice acidic piquancy subdues the jammy observation. Read More

  • Myriad Mcgah Family Vineyard Semillon 2017

Fresh, crisp, maybe, a touch alcoholic. Tart stone fruit. Some hint of banana. Nice refreshing summer sipper. Read More

  • Myriad Cellars Beckstoffer Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Very attractive dark purple in the glass. Subdued nose of blue/black fruit. Nice hit of dried fruitblueberry, pruneon entry. Very tame tannins. Not the most mouth-filling CS. Nice acid makes the wine quite refreshing. Another case, though, where the whole seems greater than the sum of the parts. Read More

  • Myriad Syrah Sangiacomo Vineyard Petaluma Gap 2014

This wine opens with a terrific hit of tart stone fruitplum. Certainly, a full-bodied wine. However, moderate, at the maximum, on the tannin which is balanced by moderate, at the maximum, acid. I find this a fun-to-drink wine that doesnt require a ton of oenological esoterica to enjoy. Read More
