Bill’s winemaking interests began during his early college wrestling days in Oregon almost 50 years ago. "I fermented anything I could get my hands on," says Mosby. "I was — and still am — intrigued by the whole process." When Bill talks about his early winemaking days, he does so with an air of excitement. "As much science as we know today — technology and all that — we have barely scratched the surface when it comes to understanding the alchemic nature of wine," he explains. If you've visited the winery, then you’ve tasted his award-winning wines, caught a glimpse or two of his vineyards, and are somewhat familiar with his eccentricities. When asked to describe winemaker Bill Mosby’s character, wife Jeri answers with a smile: "Strangely enough, I would describe my husband much the same way I would characterize his wines. He’s about integrity, intelligence, strength, tenacity, passion and complexity. He’s rebellious — not afraid to dream, then make those dreams come true." – Description from dvoristanac

  • Mosby Lagrein Santa Barbara County la Seduzione French Camp 2006

    Snoothrank:

UnfilteredA little spicy then noticeably chocolatey on the nose with dark black cherry and almost black currant fruit framed by a hint of vanilla and dried bay leaf notes. Still powerful and relatively youthful with a nice mineral underlay early on the plummy palate. There's some nice depth here and the acid appears on the backend adding a nice ... Read More

  • Mosby Teroldego Santa Barbara County 2008

    Snoothrank:

High toned and gently leafy on the nose with olive leaf and a slight green olive note accenting the core of dark fruit topped with with powdery spice notes. Ths is wide open on the palate with really transparent black plum skin and blackberry fruit that is supported by lively, fresh tannins. Theres good depth on the backend, though this turns ... Snoothrank:

Fruit purchased from TempletonDark, leathery, and spicy in a black way on the nose with cactus fruit and smoky sandalwood top notes. Bright and rather elegant on entry with lovely earthy blackberry fruit that shows a hint of orange pith and some nicely integrated spice notes. Really well balanced with a lovely natural feel about the wine. Finish... Read More
