The Montesecondo farm is located a mile north of the town of Cerbaia in the comune of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, 8 miles (15 km) south of Florence.
Starting in September 2004 the farm has initiated a conversion following the Biodinamic metod of agriculture , excluding any kind of chemical product, fertilizer or pesticide..
Land surface:: 49 acres (20 hectares) of which 28 acres (11.5 hectares) are vineyards.
Composition of the land: Calcareous clay, in some points sandy. Elevation: 460 ft. (140 m). Orientation: WSW.
Grape varieties: Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot.
Production: The old vineyards are on average 30 years old and were planted with a density of 1335 plants per acre (3300 plants/hectare) and yield approximately - 320 gallons per acre (30 hectoliters/hectare). The new vineyards were planted with a density of 2530 plants per acre (6250 plants/hectare) and yield approximately 430 gallons per acre (40 hl/ha).
