  • MY FIRST VISIT TO BERN'S STEAKHOUSE - Tampa (4/8/2017)Like any true ... all off. I noticed a '75 Mondavi Zinfandel on the btg menu and asked Rachel about it. Every old Mondavi Zin I have tried has been OTH so I was eager to try one after our meal. She said it's good upon opening but fades quickly. She checked it but said it was already deterio... • Robert Mondavi Fume Blanc 2015

Very pale yellow in the glass. Very pale. More fruity, but slightly flowery nose. On the tongue delicate fruit flavors suggesting peach, kiwi, green apple. Very crisp and refreshing. A super easy wine to drink on a hot dayand even though it is, technically, winter here in the Northern Hemisphere, it is pretty darned hot, here, today. Read More

  • Sorry but I didn't get any shots of the Bedrock wines. This Ramey was tasty. ... ... not real crisp. The Mondavi took a little bit to unwind and was still evolving when the last taste was poured. 2003 has been touted as a poor Napa vintage and this is yet anotger example that people just need to be patient with some years. I call it underappreci... Read More

  • Day 4, dry out day. So today was "supposed" to be a day to do ... and salad OT popped a 2003 Mondavi cab and we offered up the 3 Bedrocks that Chris had sent home with us and one of our Apsara cabs from Tuesday's visit.  Finished the evening with fresh wild blueberry pie, ice cream and a couple stickies OT brought - a really nice Carmes de Rie... • Monte Bello yes.'77 Mondavi would be a treat. All bottles in good shape? '81 / '83 also would be a nice vertical. Depends on provenance, of course.'94 horizontal with Insignia and Mondavi might also be informative for you and some mates. Read More

  • MonteBello is always worth going for, depending on the price. What's the ... guidelines or action so far? Mondavi (before early last decade) is a better call than the Opus One. You can give O-1 a miss unless there's a real reason to present its label to someone. You might also find the '94 Insignia interesting, depending on its price. OT will ... Read More

  • Continue the research. May be some dark horses from areas that are ordinarily ... Dominus and Mayacamas and Mondavi Reserve cab to OT's and JD's '87 lists for Napa. Spottswoode was absolutely spot on in the past (sorry, couldn't resist) but have doubts about their longevity compared to others. And I'd backstop with a good vintage port. Low prod... Read More

  • I love the RM Cabs for everyday drinkers. All of them are full without being too big for my non-cab friends. All vintages go great with filet or burgers and the price point is usually sub $20. The special reserve cab is my fav.
