Robe of deep, coagulated blood. Raspberries (Frambois) and a hint of mint and chocolate on the nose but muted at serving temperature of 12 degrees centigrade (perhaps too cool for Cru). A bit vegetative - almost rhubarb on the palate but very pleasant. Medium finish and good value. Read More

Est arrive! It is what it is I suppose. Candy,sugary nose. Very light on the palate, dare I say it, like grape juice? It fizzes and bounces on the tongue and then disappears into the night. The Mommessin Nouveau for 2011 has a wonderfully inviting banana cream pie nose with a little cotton candy (floss) on top. On entry, the wine is slightly metallic with a touch of stem and dried cranberry. As in prior years, this Mommessin Nouveau does not evoke a heavy aroma of soft tropical fruit. It is dark and more mature in appearance with a somewhat muted banana, kiwi and pear on the nose.
