This is a big Mitolo. Mitolo is generally big but this is a beast. Let it soften in a decanter for a few hours and nose it periodically to enjoy the aromas. Prepare to drink this slowly and it will reward you. Probably a little heavy on the alcohol but probably more suited for longer aging. Drinking in 2013 but I'd still leave it a few more year... Very dark, deep garnet color. If not for the red ring showing around the top edge when it sits in the glass you could almost swear it's pitch black. Black cherry, blackberry and a hint of vanilla on the nose. Big cherry bomb on the palate and a ton of vanilla. There's also a hint of "sweetness" on the palate that I'm sure comes from the wine... Enjoyed this on 17 June, 2012. Had been in my cellar since 10/2010 so 2.5 years. Dark purple, intense on the nose with dark berries, some pepper and oaky alcohol. Intense on the palate at first, but then smooth and velvety with a sense of coffee, vanilla and distinct liquorice and ... a very long finish. Round and rich, yet very elegant and bala... Read More

Pretty intense on the nose with a classic array of grilled meat, pepper, spice, blackberry and plum, with a touch of a coffee top note. Just a bit thick on the palate, yet showing both density and freshness. This is a touch sweet with rich blackberry flavors that are a touch jammy, backed up by notes of grilled beef, pepper, vanilla and some nic... Read More

Deep blackberry fruit flavors, lots of cedar, brown sugar, and syrupy sweet aromas. Zesty acidity, black pepper, chewy tannins and a thick tar and dark chocolate finish. Very nice! Read More

For me this is an avalanche of sweet fruit, and is a little unbalanced.. I am not getting the Aussie Shiraz 'peppery bite' at the end that gives it a needed touch of complexity. Have got a half case of this after having it at Viraswamy with a buffet Asian lunch where it seemed excellent. Am going to save it for well spiced meals where I think i... Read More
