Miolo's history starts back in 1897 when Giuseppe Miolo from Italian's (Veneto) Miolo Family arrived in Brazil where today is located what we call Wine Valley in southern Brazil. As most Italians, they brought to Brazil they love for wine and found there at Wine Valley one of, if not the best terroir in Brazil. Since then they got the recognition of great wine producers, but only in the '90s, leaded by Giuseppe's grandchildren Darci, Antonio and Paulo Miolo, they begun to produce wines with the label MIOLO. The first bottle was released in 1992, a Family Reserve Merlot 1990, the grape that is very well adapted to the Valley. Besides other grapes and brands Miolo started a Quality Program in 1998 that changed the Wine industry in Brazil, investing a lot on tecnology, human resources and most important new terroirs and grapes varieties.
