  Like a big pile of rusty nails with a slap of scathing tartness in the face, it's really something awesome. Hints of smoked deli meats.

  Musty meat on the nose. Leathery but mellow mealy spice with candied orange and and bitter herbs on the finish (good call on the finish, GDP).

Read more60% Syrah 25% Grenache 15% Mourvedre Syrah driven aromatics of grilled meats, violets and licorice and enhanced with a deep base of moist dirt and jammy, spicy strawberry tones. This is too sweetly fruited to be mistaken for a Rhone wine but it certainly shares certain traits, stony notes, soil, leather, and aromatic woodsy tones all contributing to a very complex bouquet. Relatively light bodied with a nice foundation of very fine, very ripe tannins. The flavors are great, fresh and fruity with gentle leather and game notes over spice and herb notes. The tannins pop out a bit on the finish, which has hints of candied orange peel and bitter herbs on the finale 90pts    (hide)

  Miner Family Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2008

  Snoothrank:

  I bought this while tasting at their vineyards. Miner has a nice tasting room, and nice whites. I really wasn't a fan of their rosato - ick. But the whites and reds were nice. This was my favorite, and great price too

Smells lightly cherried and very tarry with plenty of prosciutto and grilled meats. Quite elegant in the mouth with a decidedly black cherry fruit profile. Lot’s of tannins but well balanced with a rather refined feel and a distinct lack of extraction which keeps it light on it’s feet. Juicy and focused on the finish. Which has solid length and a nice touch of minerality/chalkiness. A claret styled PS with wonderful fruit and balance destined for a long life. 91pts    (hide)
