MINASSIAN-YOUNG VINEYARDS' estate vineyard consists of 12 acres of 28-year-old head-pruned Zinfandel vines as well as new plantings of Syrah, Mourvedre and Couniose grapes.   All of our Zinfandel vines are dry-farmed (farmed with only the rainfall from that year) making our wines full-bodied true reflections of the climate of their vintage.  Dry farming is possible for many older Zinfandel vines in the area since time has allowed the vine to become deeply-rooted and self-regulating.  The lush oak trees surrounding our vineyard contribute greatly to the richness of our soils and the nourishment of our vines. Our vineyard was originally owned by the Beckett family of Peachy Canyon Winery.  The same vines that make Minassian-Young's signature "Estate Zinfandel" are those that were once managed and harvested by Peachy Canyon Winery, now located on Highway 46 West.  Though the property was originally sold as only an estate, David and Amparo Young have worked to turn the property into a sustainable vineyard Read more »

  • Minassian-Young Zinfandel Paso Robles Estate 2005

First Yum. We stumbled upon t his small and personal winery during the 2007 Zin Fest in Paso Robles. The folks there were incredibly humble, open, warm, friendly, can't say enough. They may be a bit on the inexperienced and lesser known side, but I think they will grow into becoming one of Paso's most sought after wines. This particular vintag... Read More
