Picard Père et Fils is one of the largest wine producers and négociants in Burgundy and, with nearly 300 acres of vineyards, Michel Picard is also one of Burgundy's largest landholders. Although modest in size by California and by most other New World standards, Picard's domain defines the pinnacle in Burgundy, France's most famous wine region. As part of his vast holdings, Michel Picard owns at least five distinct historical estates in Burgundy, including his latest acqui-sition, the Château de Chassagne-Montrachet, which serves as the company headquarters. He also produces an excellent array of red and white Burgundies, which bear the Michel Picard label, most notably Chablis, Pouilly Fuissé, and Beaujolais-Villages. – Description from mriskic

Nice white burgundy from Chassagne Montrachet. Citrus, lemon peel, somewhat acidic but without the mineral flintiness of a better Montrachet. Read More

Not a bad Chenin Blanc from Michel Picard. Slightly sweeter than I care for but nice balance with decent flavors of tangerine, honeysuckle and gala apple. Read More

  • Michel Picard Macon Villages Chardonnay 2009

First whiff brings some petrol on the nose. Somewhat light, a little flabby without much acidity or minerality that you'd expect from a white burgundy. Decent finish that has some flint, light lemon custard and a slight floral note. Not bad, not great. Read More

I liked it a lot when I tasted it last winter so much so that I bought a case of it. I have returned to it to see how it was evolving. I found it dry to a fault. I like dry wine, but one can overdo austerity. The fact that I've been exploring Rhône wines in the intervening months might have an effect on my assessment. I'm so disappointed with it... Read More

Vive la Vouvray! I was recently given this for my Birthday! Don't know how the giver knew I would like this, but I am going to share the knowledge of this wine with family members who also like sweetish white wines. But, not the wine! Read More

    Wine review by Momeo

  • I have been searching for Michel Picard Cabernet. My mom loves this wine and hasn't been able to find it for years now. I can't find it anywhere - has there ever been such a wine? Is it possible she is mistaking? She tells me this wine was so smooth, with almost caramel- like undertones. Please let me know if there is - or was - such a wine...
