Responsible for overseeing Gruppo Mezzacorona, the Mezzacorona Societa Cooperativa Agricola was founded in 1904 as one of the first growers associations in Italy.  Currently occupying just under 6,500 acres at the foot of the Italian Dolomites, Gruppo Mezzacorona which produces all Mezzacorona products, combines both the traditional pergola system of growing with the more modern espalier system for enological operations.  While staying true to the natural balance of the grapes, Mezzacorona is equipped with the most modern enological equipment allowing them to produce upwards of 8 million gallons of wine annually.

Wine production focuses on quality white production with special attention paid to their Pinot Grigios and Chardonnays, both grapes coming from the Valle dell’ Adige section of the vineyards.  Red production is centered on the Teroldego, followed closely by their Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, harvesting the grapes from the Piana Rotaliana and Lake Garda regions, respectively Read more »

  • Mezzacorona Pinot Noir Vigneti Delle Dolomiti IGT 2008

I bought a case of this just for cooking. I can't say enough about it. It magnifies all the flavors of my vin blancs, beurre blancs, vesuvios and reductions incomparable to similar value pinot grigios. I'm on the last bottle and definitely going to pick up another couple of cases. "Smooth, fresh, fruity" Read More

  • Rotari Brut Riserva Brut Riserva Mezzacorona Italien Trentino Mousserande Viner. Torra Chardonnay Pinot Noir 2000

Quite doughy at first with a lightly waxy, smoky underlay over which are layered light apple and pear fruits. This is quite a focused sparkling wine with refr... Read More
