My 30 year career in wine (Orlando, Petaluma, St Hallett) has been exciting and varied, and I can confidently say that life without wine would not be. After some decades of building wineries, creating brands and styles and establishing Australian wine in the international market place, I felt it time to come home to our own land on top of Mengler’s Hill above the Barossa and start from the beginning…again. We didn’t have 5 generations of old Barossa forefathers who selected the land and planted vines to be ready for us in 100 years time. So we did it ourselves and created a new vineyard of 6144 Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro and Riesling vines. However, like the forefathers we never had, we planted traditional dry grown bush vines in the cooler natural surrounds of the Barossa ranges. – Description from iskicm

  • V V - Sorry to hear about that 2012 Liquid Farm Golden Slope Chardonnay; it's too bad you can't just notify a vineyard via the Internet and get a free replacement bottle for one that is not up to expectations.  Tonight after watching the grandkids for a few hours, we arrived home ready to relax with a new Malbec I picked up earlier today at the ... • Hey everyone, what are some of your favorite 'everyday' or M-F types of wines to accompany a regular dinner?  I personally have enjoyed the Montoya Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, and I usually pick it up from Total Wines out here in Virginia.  This is one of those fruit-forward cabs that isn't too complex for me to appreciate, and it usually cost... I'm not seeing many available in the States quite yet, but was happy to find these locally. Read More
