It’s taken twenty-five harvests and lots of passion for a dream to come true: to produce a great red and bring Burgundy to Oltrepò Pavese. The dream was Sandra’s, who has been running the Braggiotti family’s estate since 1993. In this “borderland” wedged between Emilia and Piedmont, south of the River Po, the Braggiottis’ successful intuition has managed to capture the potential s of a vine, the pinot noir, which has a centuries-old connection with these gentle hills. The first person to suggest that they make reds out of pinot noir was a great father of Italian wine: Giacomo Bologna.
