  • GregT--interesting about the discounting.  A wine store owner I know ... ... ... I bought some of the Martin Ray, supposedly 85% Stags Leap fruit.  I also bought some discounted '05 York Creek because I loved the '04 or whatever the hell I had last year and it was $25.  But that was already on order when this thread started.Last thing about K... • Martin Ray Chardonnay Carneros 2013

Pretty decent Carneros chardonnay. Normally the Martin Ray chards are fairly basic but this one has a bit of depth, some nice creaminess, soft lemon pith, decent acidity and a medium finish. Very similar to the 2012. Read More

  • Martin Ray Winery Sauvignon Blanc Russian River Valley 2013

Not bad, not great sauv blanc from russian river. Not a lot going on but there is a touch of creamy lemon and some decent acidity. This is more on the lemon side of flavors, not any of the NZ grapefruit. Overall, decent for the price, would probably buy again for a summer deck or mid-week quaff. Read More

  • Emark, I agree that Total Wine has some wines that have pretty good quality to ... swill. We've found the Martin Ray, Sobon, Gassier, Montoya and Dominican Oaks offerings highly acceptable. • Well, we have a new computer.  All the scare notices about XP being  ... ... vintage of the Ceritas Martin Ray that I have tried.  It, like the 2011, is amazing.  White wine like this can convert any red wine drinker.  I received this wine about a month ago along with another Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir.  I am now looking forward to the (gasp... • Ceritas Peter Martin Ray Vineyard Chardonnay 2012

Interesting floral aromas. My kind of Chardonnay on initial taste. Very lean with noticeable acid. Some green apple flavors and just a hint of pineapple. So, you can see the acid is put to good use. My kind of Chardonnay even after the initial taste. US$55.00 from the winery's mailing list. Read More
