Winemaking is a Del Bondio family tradition. Bryan's grandparents settled in the Napa Valley over 100 years ago. His father, Al, worked at Inglenook for 45 years and taught his son about the unique and challenging art and science of winemaking. His mother, Marie, also spent 40 years at Inglenook. Bryan's formal education was completed in 1977 when he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Viticulture from the University of California, Davis. In 1977 Bryan joined Markham Vineyards as General Manager, and in January of 1988 was promoted to President. When you visit the Winery you may run into Bryan's children and possible future Markham employees, Lauren, Lina & Peter. – Description from iskicm

  • Markham Vineyards Merlot Napa Valley 2013

Wonderful offering, with blackberry, mocha, dark cherry tannins, spice and violets. This expresses a less full bodied version of merlot (feminine style) and they've done it well for years. Drink or hold -90 points - Paul Read More

  • Markham Merlot 2014

Cherry and sawdust aromas with sweet syrupy notes and a hint of blueberry on the nose. Mixed red fruit palate of cherry, strawberry and raspberry with loads of ripe flavors, a burst of acidity coming through the mid palate and a licorice, herbal earthy finish that carries a touch of vanilla and spice. • Markham Vineyards Merlot Napa Valley 2013

Half an open bottle taken home from Jack & Rosanne's 50th wedding anniversary. Did not drink the remainder for a week+ after it had been opened. That said, no complaints and no accolades. It was still drinkable. Read More

  • Markham Merlot Napa Valley 2010

I stored this bottle just to see how it would hang. Nothing special, it's just that I like Markham and this bottling received less positive hype than most. A brooding dark juice with excellent viscosity, blackberry and dark cherry, chocolate and spice. Married completely now this finishes balanced and seamless. Paul 90 points Read More

  • Markham Cellar 1879 Blend 2012

Very fruity nose. Big fruit on introductionred raspberry, plumbut some sophistication emerges mid- to rear palate. Rustic sensation of leather and tobacco flavors and a general grittiness. Not a particularly elegant wine, but, rather, a sensational hamburger wine. Certainly worth the US$17 that I paid for it. Read More

  • Markham Sauvignon Blanc 2011

This is quite aromatic and green on the nose with notes of roasted green chilies, kiwi fruit and a green vegetal base note. Juicy if simple on entry, this offers up a nice core of sweet citrus fruits and apricot nectar notes in an easy to drink style. Taking on a slight tropical cast to the fruit on the backend, this finishes quickly with soft a... Read More
