Marion's Vineyard was discovered in 1979 as a, "jungle bush, blackberry-infested, rock heap" by a pair of wine prospectors who could find no indigenous product whilst traveling the apple isle at that time. "Too Cold here" oft stated, our homework affirmed most of the north Island was simply, " Too hot"! Locating the top posi, midway on the west bank of the Tamar River at Deviot, a much pondered, 15-minute decision was made. It was back to California to sell up and migrate to an exotic south pacific island to pioneer wine in a valley, a quarterback sneak up in the middle of the two greatest wine valleys in the world: France's Bordeaux and America's Napa.
