In 1973, Marcel Lapierre begins again the family business composed then by 7 hectares with the customers of his grand father with whom he is still working today. It is from 1981, under the impulse of Jules Chauvet, well-known researcher at the University of California that Marcel Lapierre decided to vinify without SO2 and additional yeasts and to cultivate in a bio dynamic way, without weed killers and chemical fertilizers. – Description from dvoristanac

  • Lapierre Morgon 2007

    Snoothrank:

A good winemaker will always make great wines in great years, but will make decent, good wines in a terrible year...2007 was no 2005...heavy rains in September led to water charged grapes. Wines are consequently thin, light and short in finish, perhaps herbaceous...Again, the wine drink well now, slightly chilled, with cold pork cuts. For Lapier... Read More

  • Lapierre Morgon 2007

    Snoothrank:

Light candy cherry nose over slight toast. In the mouth, flat & thin at first leading to herbaceous and vegetal notes, finishing with soft tannins, grows on me. Read More

  • Lapierre Morgon 2007

    Snoothrank:

Dry, dusty nose with tannins seeping through. Tight and mineral, almost vegetal (bay leaf, maybe asparagus). Earthy finish is pleasant, and that saves the wine. Decant and give it a year or so. Read More

  • Lapierre Morgon 2007

    Snoothrank:

Morgon produces rich, earthy wine that can easily be mistaken for Burgundy. Lapierre is a great biodynamic producer. This offers up notes of beet roots, dusty earth, anise and aggressive herb and medicinal notes. With a very light, natural and elegant in the mouth this is refreshing but quite herbal and almost vegetal on the palate with a decid... Read More

  • Lapierre Morgon 2007

Marcel Lapierre is perhaps the 'big' star of the Morgon region, certainly the maker of some of the appellations most interesting wines. He has a great reverence for the terroir, that he faithfully expreseses with natural, traditional winemaking. Minimal sulphur, fining and filtration is the norm here - the wines are complex, but express the s... Read More
