Our estate wines come from some of the highest vineyards in El Dorado, with awesome views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Paul Bush manages the vineyards himself, adding to the family’s knowledge of grape varieties, clones within a variety, and microclimates. “Intensive hands-on vineyard practices make wines that are frankly exceeding what we thought possible at these high elevations,” says Paul, “And we’re going to keep on improving over the next 30 years.” Madroña Vineyards is a member of the Apple Hill Wineries and the El Dorado Winery Association. We host and pour at many special events throughout the year.

  • We're heading back to (my favorite wine region) Russian River the first weekend in October and are looking for advice on what to do and what to expect.  We've been to RRV several times but only during the off season.  Is there anything special we should do at this time of year, and conversely, is there anything we should avoid? • Barbera Hillside Collection 2010

    Snoothrank:

This was part of Apple Hill, El Dorado, beginning at Grace Patriot wines and covering Lava Cap, Crystal Basin, Jack Russell Brewing, Boa Vista and Madroña in the same area. This was at Madroña. They served the reds before the whites and that kind of messed up the taste buds a little. This was leathery. Simple with a tad much acidic and no fruit.... Read More
