The soils of our vineyards are stony and coarse textured and endure a climate of hot days and cool nights. Bodegas Luzon, with over 600 hectares of its own vineyards grows grape varieties namely: Monastrell, Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to provide the basis of our fine wines. After harvesting the vines by hand, we select the best grapes as part of our meticulous process to produce an extraordinary range of top quality wines. The tasting and classification by our Winemaker ensures the results we all desire. At Bodegas Luzon we strive to achieve the highest standards from the crops we harvest and we utilise the latest technological developments in processing our wines. Our winery uses the most modern systems that guarantee the quality and ensures complete traceability of the grapes from the vineyard through the vinification, fermentation, blending, ageing and subsequent bottling. – Description from Alejandro

  • Albero Jumilla Organic Monastrell 2009

    Snoothrank:

Beautiful plum color in the glass. Insignificant bouquet. Fruity on the tip of the tongue, but that quickly diminishes. Big mouth filling as the wine moves through the palate. The real disappointment, though, comes with the finish--chemical aftertaste that, thankfully, quickly dies away. US$5.99 at Trader Joe's. Read More

  • Bodegas Luzon Mourvedre Blend Jumilla 2007

    Snoothrank:

A very earthy nose up front on this Mouvédre. Chalky soil and barnyard tones. Crushed red berries and some lavender tones. On the palate, it's medium bodied and flinty. Wet stone, earth and some hints of licorice are followed by dark red berry fruit. Some slight chalkiness on the finish and slight mint. Medium dryness. A rich earthiness r... Read More
