Walk through the wrought iron gate and enter another world. Drink in the rustic beauty of olive trees, towering poplars, and leafy oaks that landscape the grounds surrounding our estate's Italianate architecture. Be transported by our spectacular setting to another time, another place while enjoying every moment of the here and now that Luna Vineyards offers. When George Vare and Mike Moone first laid eyes on the Luna property in 1995, they instantly recognized the magic, and the amazing potential, of its estate vineyards. Plus, it was perfectly located along the Silverado Trail. So they bought the property and followed their dream, building a winery that paid tribute to the varietals that set Napa Valley apart. They also planted visionary varietals like Pinot Grigio and Sangiovese, which weren’t then well known in Napa Valley. – Description from Luna Vineyards

Luna Vineyards on Snooth

  • Sometimes, I’m not exactly sure what my job is here at Snooth. I do get to review wine, which many people think is a glamorous and desirable thing to do. The truth is, it’s just a great vehicle for pissing people off. I can piss off producers by either not reviewing their wines or not reviewing their wines well, and I can piss off the consumers.... • Luna Vineyards Pinot Grigio Napa Valley 2010

    Snoothrank:

This is fairly mineral on the nose with a nice contrast of stemmy apple fruit and some hints of pineapple. Light in the mouth and a touch soft, this is inoffensive but innocuous with lightly creamy peach flavors on the mid-palate and a hint of sweet nuttiness on the modest finish. 78pts Read More

  • One thing you learn quickly when you get to taste as many wines as I do is that there is only a loose correlation between price and quality. Paying more for a wine certainly doesn’t guarantee a better wine, but when you move from one price point to another you can at least hope that the average score of the relative groups will justify the price... • Hi All,I've been a sideline observer of Snooth for a couple years and thought I'd join the party.  I'm a huge Central Coast fan, unfortunately located in Pittsburgh, PA.  I've made a few tasting trips out west and another is planned for April.  If you're planning a trip to Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, or anywhere in between, feel free to shoot me...
