Little Swan Lake Winery is a family owned and operated business located 11/2 miles north of the small town of Superior in Northwest Iowa. In May of 2003 our doors opened to the public. The tasting room, our remodeled 1920's barn, features 18 different wines all produced on site, a selection of cheeses, and buffalo meat from our own herd which roams nearby. Our vineyard consists of two acres of northern cold hardy grapes. The gift shop features clothing and wine related items. We are dedicated to producing the finest and most enjoyable wines and invite you to spend an hour or an afternoon with us. – Description from Alejandro

  • So we have some interest in having a West Coast meet-up (or you can call it a throw-down) for Pinot.  Here's my opening proposal:  We'll do it very close to the Oakland Airport, to save those who are traveling in from out of town (like Emark and JonDerry) from having extra travel if they want to fly.  This would give LuchaVino a chance to attend... I live in the Pacific Northwest so the Pinot Noir's are readily available due to the large varieties from Oregon. Before I embark on purchasing some different brands I would l... Read More

  • I generally avoid wine clubs of any sort, even at my favorite wineries--I'm too promiscuous to sign up to drink 12 or 24 botles of someone's wine in a year--but I am a member of Mauritson's Rockpile list, because there's no longer any way to get the Cemetery Zinfandel and good luck getting any of the others, either.  Since I have in-laws up that... • Chardonnay Tasted - October 2010 2007 Freeman Ryo-fu Russian River Valley Chardonnay 14.1% $40 Smells like a bouquet of dried flowers. There’s also a distinct vein of toasty oak here, but the floral quality is distinct, adding nice detail to the rather restrained fruit. This is rich and soft on entry but with plenty of supporting acid. It has a ... Read More
