In 1992, Debbie and Randy Lewis established a small family winery with their son Dennis. Total production is approximately 9,000 cases annually of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah. We are literally hands-on in every aspect of vineyard management, winemaking, sales and distribution, and we thrive on this challenge and the relationships we cultivate in the process. It is our continuing goal to create world class wines. – Description from iskicm

  • Lewis Cellars Chardonnay Sonoma 2013

Lovely golden yellow color. Definite oak bouquet on the nose. Lots of tropical fruit on the tonguelychee, pineapple. Some vanilla, but that is subdued by excellent acid on the back end which gives this a nice refreshing quality. Read More

  • Though not (yet) a wine titan, Idaho is making progress as a viticultural state.  This past week Idaho Wine: From Bud to Taste Bud, a documentary covering the recent growth of the wine industry in the state, debuted at the Sun Valley Film Festival. According to Great Northwest Wine (GNW) writer Andy Perdue, the filmed received “a strong response... Read More

  • Lewis Cellars Syrah Blend Napa Valley Alec's Blend 2010

Bright red-biased color that does not let much light through. Lots of berry aromas with a hit, also, of stone fruit. Berry fruit is all over the wine on introduction to the tongue, but, then, there is a mineral or dusty hit that immediately adds complexity. Next Im getting the tannins and a hit of mint. This is one wine were I truly see differ... Read More

  • Lewis Cellars Chardonnay Napa Valley 2012

Very crisp wine. If you hate the oaky/buttery style, this is your thing. I might make a case for this wine being a bit over-acidic. Very subtle on the fruit flavorssome lemon, some stone fruit. A wine to enjoy for itself, but not up to the standards set previous years by this maker. Read More

  • Well, now we've really scared her awayMinky, GregT is one of the best ... ... ... Chardonnay that I like--Lewis Cellars.  Lewis produces Chardonnay bottlings from both Sonoma and Napa grapes, and they do not allow malolactic fermentation.  So, I find them to be much more lean than many California examples.  Greg, you should be able to find it...
