Founded in 1992 by Ross and Barbara Lawson when they decided to make their own wine, after on selling their Gewurztraminer grapes from their Alabama Rd vineyard since the early 80s. The business has grown from that original 15 tonnes which Ross managed from the old tin shed (now the cellar door), on the property to processing close to 800 tonnes. "New Zealand's Wine Family" - an export focused marketing alliance of twelve family owned New Zealand winemakers has been launched in New Zealand. The name reflects both the co-operative spirit and private ownership, the wineris involved encompass wine regions throughout New Zealand and make wine from every major varietal , six are from the North Island and six are from the South Island. – Description from iskicm
